February 13, 2006 -- Rumors Are Flying Over the past few months, rumors have been going around that River's Edge was going out of business. We'd like to assure you that that is not our intent. Last fall, we filed suit in Superior Court in order to force the property owners to honor our lease renewal and to do so at "prevailing market rental rate" as provided for us in our lease by the previous property owner. Today, we received a notice telling us to leave the premises or face eviction proceedings. We are committed to staying in business and we know that we are right in the matter. It is our intent to see this through the court process and to ultimately prevail and continue serving Ipswich.

April 15, 2003 -- Fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity! River's Edge Card & Gift announced today a silent auction to benefit Cape Ann Habitat for Humanity. The fundraiser will be held at River's Edge Card & Gift, 15 Market Street, Ipswich from May 1 - 10, 2003.

Up for bid is a pair of tickets to see Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band at The Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. The tickets are for Thursday, August 28, 2003. Bidding will start at the face value of $150 for the pair. Similar tickets are currently selling for over $300 on eBay.

According to Habitat for Humanity, the money will be used to support their programs dedicated to ending poverty housing. Cape Ann Habitat works in partnership with area people in need to build simple, decent, affordable housing. Current projects include three homes on Essex Road in Ipswich.

April 2, 2000 -- Confusion Clarified: Over the past few weeks, confusion and rumors have persisted and flourished. Please be assured the River's Edge Card & Gift is not moving. Apparently the confusion has arisen with the scheduled opening of "River Gallery" at 4 Market Street later this month. River's Edge Card & Gift and River Gallery are not afilliated in any way. River's Edge will continue to offer gallery quality items such as paintings, photography, pottery, photo cards, books, jewelry, and other artwork by local artists, as we have since 1998. We plan on staying at our 1 Market Street location for some time to come.

March 25, 2000 -- The Cat's Meow Village signing was a great success! Hundreds of people lined up to meet Faline Fry-Jones and Don Cadoret and to have their favorite Cat's Meow pieces signed. Casper the cat joined us as well. Stay tuned for pictures from this great day.
